Marine Stewardship Council

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an independent non-profit organization that sets the standard for sustainable fishing. It is the world's largest certification organization for wild-caught fish and fish products.

Objectives of the MSC

Ensuring sustainable fishing, development of fish stocks and exploitation of the gifts of the sea.

Environmental responsibility.

The MSC has developed standards for sustainable fishing and seafood. The standard is based on practical guidance and helps transform global fish markets.

Aquaculture Stewardship Council

Independent organization Aquaculture Stewardship
Council (ASC) certifies farmed marine and freshwater species selected based on their potential impact on the environment and society (local communities).

The goal of the ASC

Reducing the negative social and ecological impacts of aquaculture, through the observance of strict standards on fish farms.

They are foods produced without the use of antibiotics, growth hormones, genetically modified components and most preservative pesticides.

IFS Food

The IFS comprises eight different food and non-food standards that cover supply chain processes. Different standards are now used by manufacturers and sellers around the world to meet new demands for quality, transparency and efficiency resulting from globalization.

Global GAP internationally recognized standard for agricultural production. GLOBALG.AP's goal is safe and sustainable agricultural production for the benefit of farmers, retailers and consumers worldwide.

Among other things, the standard requires higher production efficiency. Improves business performance and reduces waste of vital resources.

Taking our commitments to the next level

Our Responsible Sourcing (RSP) program is designed to support projects that we believe will lead to a more sustainable future.

The purpose of this program is to fund a variety of stewardship projects that support the conservation of our most valuable ocean resources.

We work closely with our colleagues z FishWise to screen and select recipients of RSP funding. FishWise supports the health and restoration of ocean ecosystems by providing innovative market tools for the seafood industry. The organization promotes sustainability through environmentally responsible business practices while helping us stay connected to the projects we fund. To learn more about FishWise, visit their website.

The key to our program is participation.

This means that we are not only concerned with sustainability issues, but also actively involved in educating our customers and dealer network about the issues facing the seafood industry.

RSP by FJORD it also helps identify, qualify and verify new (and existing) suppliers. Our concern is to ensure that everyone we do business with shares our commitment to food safety, supply integrity and sustainable practices.

Such an investment on the supply side of the equation provides both ongoing evaluation and the acquisition of valuable insights that we can then pass on to our customers.
